Sephardic Spice Girls teach history, recipes about Middle Eastern Judaism

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Best friends Sharon Gomperts and Rachel Sheff are the dynamic duo behind the Sephardic Spice Girls on social media.

Together, they share online recipes, history and cultural anecdotes about Sephardic and Middle Eastern Jewish heritage.

They started the account to teach people about Sephardic culture (which hails from Spain, North Africa and across the Middle East) and help other Jewish people connect to their roots.

Perhaps most importantly, though, Sephardic Spice Girls document long-lost ancestral recipes that were never written down by many families.
