Orange Cake
Syrup Ingredients
1/4 cup orange juice
1 cup powder sugar
1 tablespoon orange blossom water
Zest of one orange
Melt ingredients over medium heat. Once sugar has dissolved and syrup is thick, set aside.
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
A pinch of salt
1/2 cup orange juice
Zest of two oranges
2 sticks butter or 1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon orange blossom water
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease and flour a Nordicware Bundt mold.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt, then set aside
In a stand mixer, combine the orange juice, orange zest, butter, sugar, eggs and orange blossom water. Beat until batter is a creamy pale color.
Sift the dry ingredients into the cake batter and combine well.
Bake cake until golden, about 45 minutes.
Cool cake for an hour. Flip onto a plate, then pour syrup all over.
