Baklava Recipe

Syrup: 1 cup honey, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 2 pieces lemon peel
Filling: 1 cup almonds, 1 cup pistachios, ½ cup sugar, ½ cup toasted sesame seeds, 2 tsp cinnamon
Dough: 1 box frozen phyllo dough, ½ cup avocado oil for brushing
Garnish: ¼ cup chopped pistachios
Preheat oven to 400°F & grease a skillet or round pan.
2 Simmer honey, sugar, water, & lemon peels over medium heat until sticky & golden.
3 Chop nuts in food processor & combine with sugar, sesame, & cinnamon.
4 Lay out 2 phyllo sheets, brush with oil, add nut filling, roll into a log.
5 Form log into a snail shape in the skillet, brush with oil, bake 15-20 mins.
6 Pour cooled syrup over baklava & sprinkle pistachios on top.
